UL 943 Approved GFCI Devices from Hubbell

With the latest Standard UL 943 placed on GFCI devices, you can count on Graybar and Hubbell to have the self-test GFCI models you need. This revised standard requires a new function for all ground fault receptacles being built after June 29, 2015.

  • Each GFCI receptacle must automatically monitor the GFCI circuit/functionality periodically every 3 hours or less.
  • GFCI must also automatically test within 5 seconds of power to device.
  • If GFCI receptacle can no longer provide GFCI protection two condition may follow at this point:
    1. Unit is no longer able to reset and denies power.
    2. Unit can reset and is subject to the next automonitoring test cycle within 5 seconds.
  • All GFCI receptacles must provide an audible or visual indication in the event the GFCI receptacle does not go into power denial.

Hubbell Autoguard®

Hubbell Autoguard® Ground Fault Receptacles (GFR) continually test and monitor for “people protection capability” automatically. This patented safety feature includes disconnecting power to the receptacle if critical components are damaged and GFCI protection is lost. GFCI auto-monitoring is conducted continuously within every 30 seconds. Call 1-800-GRAYBAR to learn more about these receptacles from Hubbell.
