In the Wake of a Hurricane, Tallahassee Puts Customers First

When Hurricane Hermine hit just before Labor Day weekend, the Tallahassee Branch put its customers first. Though much of the area was without power, the counter stayed open for business on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday following the storm to accommodate and serve customers. Employees even came in on Saturday night to receive an emergency shipment of critical items from the Tampa Zone. All of this was accomplished with the assistance of a generator and many employees who stepped up to keep the branch running. Branch Manager Jim Workman was there for customers every step of the way, from communicating the branch’s weekend hours to taking customer orders via text message. One customer, Rob Thompson, president of RT Electric, said, “I would just like to commend Graybar Tallahassee for supporting our community in the aftermath of Hurricane Hermine. By bringing in supplies and opening on the weekend, it really helped local electrical contractors assist the community in getting back up and running.”
