2016: A Year of Giving Back for Grand Rapids Branch

Employees in the Grand Rapids Branch did much to give back to their community during 2016. They started off the year started off the year selling raffle tickets for baskets of donated goodies to raise money for a former employee’s memorial service. In June, employees held another raffle for the Kids Food Basket summer lunch program, collecting 347 food items and decorating 1,022 lunch bags for the program. The branch held a back to school backpack drive in August. For every three backpacks donated, employees earned a chance to throw a pie in a managers’ face. They collected 120 backpacks and hundreds of school supplies. Later in the fall, employees raised money for breast cancer with another basket raffle. And in December, the branch collected 100 toys, 212 scarves, 50 hats and five winter coats for Santa Clause Girls, a local organization that distributes the wrapped items to area children for Christmas.
