GE Lighting BR30 Lamps

GE Lighting BR30 Lamps

As industries large and small work toward more energy-efficient and globally sustainable operations, lighting is a crucial consideration for procurement professionals in retail, hospitality, healthcare, office and commercial market segments. In Las Vegas, where The Las Vegas Sands Corp. operates The Venetian | The Palazzo which combines 24-hour hotel, conference and trade show capabilities, lighting solutions from Graybar and GE afforded better ambience, lower maintenance and savings of more than $2 million to date.

For the meeting rooms at The Venetian | The Palazzo, Graybar and GE provided 5,700 GE LED BR30 lamps. These lamps are built for recessed-can and downlight applications where pleasant, clear lighting must highlight the architectural surroundings as well as contribute to a better customer experience. With a rated life span of 25,000 hours, the 12-watt lamps deliver crisper light at higher lumens than the previous 120-watt bulbs in the facility. They require fewer change-outs and use 108 fewer watts per fixture.

GE Lighting projects the Las Vegas Sands Corp. will cut electricity use by nearly 4.1 million kWh per year in its meeting facilities alone, saving more than $400,000. In fact, The Venetian | The Palazzo, in conjunction with the Sands Expo and Convention Center, is the first and only property on the Las Vegas Strip to receive U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings. It is one of the largest LEED-EB certified buildings in the world.

GE Lighting conducts rigorous reliability testing that incorporates test data from LED suppliers as well as its own extensive system testing, in-house and in independent labs around the world. GE Lighting also offers a new LED Replacement Tool so contractors can quickly and easily choose the best energy-efficient LED for the specific application.
