The culture at Graybar stems from our employee-ownership model. Most employees are mindful of expenses and want to perform their job in the most time- and cost-effective manner possible. We pitch in to help whenever there is a need. We care about each other, both professionally and personally. I am fortunate to have a great group of friends at Graybar who I believe will continue to be my friends no matter where our careers take us.
Graybar is supportive and encourages me to challenge myself while at the same time helping to develop my skills. In my position, I can work independently or as part of the team. Although there are daily obstacles, such as managing my time and meeting deadlines, I receive plenty of intellectual stimulation from my work.
I stay connected to what is going on at Graybar internally and externally through a number of communication outlets. I view news messages on our intranet, attend our CEO all-employee web conferences and leverage social networking sites like LinkedIn. In addition, the Senior Vice President – Secretary and General Counsel does a great job of keeping our department updated on new initiatives and company financial results.

Boy, all I watch anymore is animated cartoons thanks to my five-year old son, I wouldn’t even know what to say for this question! I hope I don’t identify with Spongebob or Scooby Doo.
